This morning the fan community was buzzing and sharing what seems to be Jaafar Jackson’s new single called ‘Rebirth of Michael’.
Assuming it’s not AI generated, it is unclear if this release was official or “leaked”. None of Jaafar Jackson’s social media (facebook, X, Youtube, Instagram) are mentioning the single or release. It was only released on Spotify.
The lyrics of the song don’t match the title of the song. Nowhere in the song mentioned the name “Michael” and it seems to be a love song.
While part of the community is hyped by the biopic and the release of a picture of Jaafar as Michael yesterday and therefore loving and sharing the “new” song, the other part is not convinced this is real or if real, not of good taste.
Meanwhile, the cover of the single seems a bit too shady, not made very nicely with badly Photoshopped cuts of “Michael Jackson” Thriller font and repeated image at the bottom.
As for the singing, it really feels like AI generated as Jaafar’s voice is not that high-pitched.
Not to mention that the Estate of Michael Jackson will be over all Jaafar’s moves and control his imagery and anything related to him during the production, release and promotion of their biopic movie. Will they really risk to alienate half of the fan community (well, actually they can and have done in the past)? It is doubtful.
Real or not; tasteful or disrespectful; the matter is for debate until we have a full confirmation from the young singer that this is his song, artwork and title.

Jaafar Jackson and his team have now put a statement regarding this song. Effectively, it is a real song sang by Jaafar but the title is not “Rebirth of Michael” and it is not a new song. Here the full statement:
“The track that recently leaked on streaming platforms under the title “Rebirth of Michael” by Jaafar Jackson is actually “Universe (of Love)”, a collaboration between Jaafar, Mike K. Jackson and Mischke in 2016. Jaafar Jackson did not authorize the release of this song, and it is not related to the Michael Jackson biopic that is currently in the works.”
