It’s not every day that we get breathless over impersonators. But Sebastián Alejandro Suárez just did that!
Native of Puebloviejo canton in Ecuador, the 16-year-old says he became interested in Michael Jackson’s career when he was 6 years old. First listening to his songs, then memorizing them and two years ago he began, during the pandemic, to practice to perfect the dance steps.
He was pushed by his classmates to sing at a school event and he decided to sing “Billie Jean” and he took everyone by surprise as his voice is very similar to the King of Pop!
A video of the performance was downloaded to TikTok and reached over 5 million views! And people started calling him the ‘Ecuadorian Michael Jackson’.
“I don’t want this to end, I never imagined that I was going to be the sensation on social networks, my dream is to be a singer and record with great artists, now I require the support of people. I am motivated to learn the English language more and improve pronunciation,” said the young man.
His family has limited economic resources, so on weekends and on his school holidays he takes the opportunity to earn a few dollars working as a bus officer, in construction and other trades to support his mother and younger brother.
His father, who resides in the Ecuadorian East, also supports him and with effort seeks the resources to boost his career.
Since Sebastián made himself known on social networks. On TikTok alone he has more than 700,000 followers. Motivating messages and comments from people around the world encourage you to reach your goal, which is to be a recognized artist.
Sebastián is in the second year of high school and the Ministry of Education has recognized his skill in the art of music and dance, highlighting his effort and perseverance.
