A new book exploring the life, work and lasting emotional impact of Michael Jackson has been released by Egyptian technology executive and first-time author Rama El Safty.
Titled Love Is Stored There: Memory. Music. Movement., the book began with an experience El Safty had in April 2026, when she watched the biographical film Michael in an IMAX cinema in Cairo with her mother and a close friend.
The experience left her with a question: why does Michael Jackson continue to move people across cultures, countries and generations?
Inspired by the reactions she witnessed around her, El Safty began exploring the extraordinary legacy of the King of Pop and the elements that contributed to his greatness.
Approaching the subject from the perspective of a technology executive and systems thinker, she examines Michael’s childhood apprenticeship, the discipline behind his spectacular performances, the authority he developed as an artist and the gentleness he sought to preserve under immense pressure.
Rather than simply recounting his life, Love Is Stored There explores how one person’s work can transcend time and geography, continuing to inspire people who grew up with his music as well as new generations discovering it for the first time.
The book also reflects on the emotional connections people form with Michael’s work, from singing along in cinemas to returning repeatedly to experience his music and story.
James Scanlan, an Arabic-to-English translator, has praised the book for its exploration of personal authority, charisma, loneliness and ambition, describing it as a journey into the intangible force behind Michael Jackson as a cultural phenomenon.
Love Is Stored There: Memory. Music. Movement. is available internationally through Amazon in Kindle, paperback and hardcover editions. A separate Cairo edition is also available in Egypt.
