Moonwalk To Be Re-Issued In Taiwan

Michael Jackson’s autobiography Moonwalk is set to return to Taiwanese bookstores later this year with a new Traditional Chinese edition.

MJVibe has learned from the Taiwan Michael Jackson Fan Club that Moonwalk, Michael’s only autobiography, will be republished in Taiwan at the end of 2026.

The new edition will be published by Business Weekly Books (商周出版), the book-publishing division associated with Taiwan’s Business Weekly. The publisher has yet to publicly release the full bibliographic details or announce the book through its online catalogue, but the Taiwan Michael Jackson Fan Club has confirmed that the new edition is planned for release toward the end of this year.

The news comes more than 15 years after the previous Traditional Chinese edition was published (officially).

A long-awaited return

Moonwalk was originally published in English in 1988 and was written by Michael Jackson with Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, then an editor at Doubleday, playing an important role in bringing the autobiography to publication.

The book gives readers Michael’s own account of his childhood, his rise with The Jackson 5, his solo career, his creative influences and his experiences with fame. It also features Michael discussing his relationships with some of the most important people in his life and career, as well as his thoughts on music, performance and his constant desire to create.

The first Traditional Chinese edition in Taiwan was published by Leeds Culture (李茲文化) in June 2010. That edition featured a translation by Wu Wen-Chi (吳玟琪), was 312 pages and carried ISBN 9789868614215. Contemporary material from the publisher described it as the first-ever Traditional Chinese edition of Michael’s autobiography.

That edition has long been out of print. Collectors looking for copies today can face considerably higher prices than the original retail price. Current Taiwanese second-hand listings show copies being offered for several thousand New Taiwan dollars, demonstrating the demand among collectors for the long-unavailable book.

A new edition for a new generation

The upcoming publication will give both longtime collectors and a new generation of Michael Jackson fans an opportunity to own Moonwalk in Traditional Chinese without having to search the second-hand market for an original copy.

The Taiwan Michael Jackson Fan Club first publicly revealed in July that the autobiography would be published for a second time in Taiwan, noting at the time that further information from the publisher would follow.

Business Weekly’s official website confirms that its publishing division produces books and maintains a dedicated online bookshop, although a public listing for the new Moonwalk edition was not yet available at the time of publication.

With the release currently scheduled for October 2026, fans in Taiwan and across the Traditional Chinese-reading community will soon have another chance to discover Michael Jackson’s story through his own words.

We will bring you further information, including the official publication date, price, ISBN and ordering details, once they are made public.
