Michael Jackson collectors are about to have the chance of a lifetime.
Funko has officially unveiled POP!250, a unique celebration of 250 years of American pop culture, featuring 26 legendary figures who helped shape history. But there’s a catch: each collectible is a true one-of-one, meaning only a single copy of each Funko Pop! exists anywhere in the world.
Over the coming days, Funko is revealing the complete lineup of icons before a special POP!250 livestream on August 6, where collectors will have the opportunity to bid on these historic pieces through Goldin Auctions.
Among the legends already revealed are Bruce Lee, Tina Turner, Lucille Ball, Jackie Robinson, Amelia Earhart, Babe Ruth, Charlie Chaplin, Harry Houdini, Annie Oakley, Mark Twain, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, and many more.
For Michael Jackson fans, however, the most exciting reveal appears to be yet another iconic look from the King of Pop.
The silhouette shown by Funko strongly suggests the 1980s-era Michael Jackson from the “Beat It” music video, using the same sculpt that was previewed several months ago. While the design itself may be familiar, this version is unlike any other, it is the only one ever produced.
That makes it one of the rarest Michael Jackson collectibles ever created by Funko.
Whether you’re a dedicated Michael Jackson memorabilia collector or a passionate Funko enthusiast, this is the definition of a grail item. With just one in existence, it will undoubtedly attract significant interest when it goes under the hammer during the August 6 livestream.
Collectors should keep a close eye on the remaining POP!250 announcements as Funko continues unveiling the final icons selected to represent two and a half centuries of American pop culture.
Will Michael Jackson’s one-of-one Beat It Funko Pop! become one of the most valuable music-themed Funko collectibles ever sold? We’ll soon find out.
