Michael Jackson is getting a new collectible figure, but this one comes with a rather unusual twist!
Starbox, a brand associated with toy company ZURU, has introduced Popcons Legends, a new series of mystery collectible figures celebrating some of the most famous names in pop culture. Among the six regular characters is Michael Jackson, featured under the name “Moonwalker”.
The collection also includes Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Bruce Lee, Muhammad Ali and Albert Einstein, alongside a super rare figure reportedly featuring the Mona Lisa.
A Different Kind of Michael Jackson Figure
Unlike traditional Michael Jackson figurines, the Popcons Legends collection takes a more stylised and slightly spooky approach. The figures feature distinctive hollow eyes, detailed costumes and an edgy design intended to give each legendary character a unique look.
The figures measure approximately 14.4 cm in height, making them suitable for displaying on a shelf alongside other Michael Jackson collectibles.
The Mystery of the Blind Box
Popcons Legends uses a blind-box format, meaning buyers do not know which character they will receive until they open the packaging. Collectors can hunt for all six regular characters, while also hoping to discover the super rare Mona Lisa figure.
The collection is already appearing at retailers in Australia, including Kmart, where the figures have been listed at around A$25 each. In the UK, The Entertainer has also listed the Popcons Legends mystery figures, although purchasing a box does not guarantee that you will receive Michael Jackson.
For fans who want to add the Moonwalker figure to their collection, the challenge will be finding one individually rather than buying multiple mystery boxes.
Will You Add Moonwalker to Your Collection?
Popcons Legends offers a different interpretation of Michael Jackson, moving away from the realistic likenesses usually seen in music memorabilia and towards stylised pop-culture art.
Whether you love the unusual design or prefer more traditional Michael Jackson figures, this is another new item for collectors to keep an eye on.
You can check the collection through The Entertainer in the UK or Kmart Australia.
