Michael Jackson, Epstein Photos and Why the Press Needs to Chill

Once again, headlines are flying and social media is buzzing after the release of additional photographs linked to the Jeffrey Epstein files, this time including images of Michael Jackson. Predictably, some sections of the press are reacting as if the mere existence of a photograph automatically implies something sinister.

It doesn’t.

Before speculation runs wild, it’s worth taking a step back, lowering the temperature, and looking at what these images actually represent and, more importantly, what they do not.

Epstein Collected Famous People: That Was His Thing

One thing is absolutely clear from years of investigation into Jeffrey Epstein:
he surrounded himself with famous people, politicians, entertainers, business leaders and powerful figures. This was not accidental. Epstein sought proximity to fame and influence, and he appeared to take pride, even pleasure, in being seen alongside those who were globally recognised.

Michael Jackson was, quite simply, one of the most famous human beings on the planet during the 1990s and 2000s. Epstein photographing himself near Michael says far more about Epstein’s obsession with status than it does about Michael’s intentions, behaviour, or character.

Being photographed by Epstein does not equal endorsement, friendship, or involvement in criminal activity. Epstein took pictures with many people, often without their knowing who he truly was or what he was involved in.

What Do the Photos Actually Show?

The images currently circulating appear to date from the early 2000s.

  • One photograph shows Michael Jackson and Epstein together in Epstein’s Palm Beach home (not the island) in 2003.

  • Another image shows Michael with Bill Clinton and Diana Ross, both long-standing friends of Michael. This photograph, which is now being loosely tied into the Epstein narrative, actually reflects Michael’s social world, not Epstein’s crimes. The photo was taken at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser on April 24, 2002, at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. There is no record that Epstein was present at the event.

None of these images show inappropriate behaviour. None of them imply criminal conduct. None of them come with allegations against Michael.

They are simply photographs.

Recent photos released on December 19, 2025 in the Epstein’s case.

Why Might Michael Have Crossed Paths With Epstein?

There are several plausible, non-sensational explanations, none of which require conspiracy theories.

Michael Jackson moved in circles that included:

  • Global entertainers

  • Wealthy individuals

  • Political figures

  • Philanthropists

  • Business and property interests

Before Epstein’s crimes were publicly known, he presented himself as a wealthy financier and philanthropist who had access to elite networks. Many people met him once or twice, briefly, or socially, without any awareness of his true activities.

Michael was also famously approachable, trusting, and curious about people, traits that, sadly, made him vulnerable throughout his life. A brief meeting or a single encounter does not indicate a relationship, let alone involvement in wrongdoing.

Photos Are Not Proof — And Context Matters

This is where the press needs to calm down.

A photograph proves only one thing: two people were in the same place at the same time. It does not prove intent, knowledge, or complicity. It does not tell a story by itself.

The release of Epstein-related files includes thousands of names, references, and images. Many are there simply because investigators were ordered to release unclassified material, not because each person is implicated in Epstein’s crimes.

Yet, once again, Michael Jackson’s name generates clicks, outrage, and assumptions faster than facts.

Since the release of the pictures, Evan Ross, Diana Ross’s son, publicly clarified that one of the images included him and Michael Jackson’s children, not unidentified individuals, correcting confusion about who appeared in the photo. Michael Prince and Grace Rwaramba have also spoken out, denying any wrong doing or any relation to Epstein.

Michael Jackson Is Not Accused of Anything Here

This point cannot be stressed enough:

  • Michael Jackson is not accused of participating in Epstein’s crimes.

  • Michael Jackson is not named as a co-conspirator.

  • No victims have accused Michael in connection with Epstein.

  • No charges, findings, or conclusions link Michael to Epstein’s criminal behaviour.

The attempt by some media outlets to blur these lines is irresponsible and misleading.

A Familiar Pattern

Sadly, this follows a familiar pattern when it comes to Michael Jackson. His name is repeatedly pulled into controversies simply because it generates attention, regardless of relevance or fairness.

Michael spent his life under a microscope. Even in death, that scrutiny continues, often without balance, nuance, or basic journalistic restraint.

Final Thoughts

The presence of Michael Jackson in a photograph connected to Jeffrey Epstein does not rewrite history, uncover hidden truths, or expose wrongdoing. It reflects Epstein’s well-documented habit of attaching himself to famous people, nothing more.

The press would do well to chill, slow down, and remember that context matters.

Michael Jackson deserves accuracy, not hysteria.

Sebastian for MJVibe

Back in May 2021, we wrote an article addressing the media hysteria that erupted when Michael Jackson’s name appeared in court documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein and what was loosely referred to as “Epstein’s list.” At the time, MJVibe made the conscious decision not to amplify the frenzy, and the article was never published.

After spending hours researching local news coverage, cross-checking articles, and carefully reading the court documents themselves, I now feel that the moment is right to share this piece. The same misunderstandings are resurfacing, the same narratives are being recycled, and once again, Michael’s name is being dragged into speculation without context.

Back then, I titled the article “Michael Jackson is NOT on THAT List!”, and sadly, that title remains just as relevant today. Here is the article, exactly as it was written.

Michael Jackson is NOT on THAT List!

As is now standard, the media continues using Michael Jackson’s name to drive clicks to their website and social media in an attempt to scandalise a man they’ve spent over 40 years degrading and smearing. This time it is in regards the Epstein case.

The Epstein case has generated huge interest in the media and with the public as it shines a spotlight on a depraved and seedy side to wealth, fame and power. It highlights the undertone of certain connections and exposes abuse, blackmail, and corruption and brings with it a whole host of recognisable names.

As a successful financial consultant throughout the 80s and 90s, Epstein developed a reputation among the Hollywood, political and even royal circles as a person to approach for financial advise. And many did. According to documents, everybody from Obama to Miley Cyrus, Beyonce to Madonna, had professional appointments with the financier at some point.

From 2005, Epstein was at the centre of multiple cases of child abuse, for which he was eventually convicted and served 13 months of an 18-month sentence. His power and influence were used in his favour through lenient terms and extremely minimum security within the facilities he was held. In 2019, he was again arrested on Sex trafficking charges and was found dead just a week later in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.

Since then, investigations into his accomplices, civil suits and trials have taken place, detailing every action he took and every person he or those in his vicinity may have encountered.

Recently, transcripts of the Epstein trial have been published, and a few more names have been revealed: Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, Stephen Hawking and … Michael Jackson.

So why is Michael Jackson being mentioned?

An alleged Jeffrey Epstein victim claimed Michael Jackson visited the financier’s home in Palm Beach.

Lawyers asked witness Johanna Sjoberg about whether she had met celebrities and politicians.

“I met Michael Jackson,” Ms Sjoberg said as part of a deposition.

When asked where she met the singer, she said: “At his [Epstein’s] house in Palm Beach.”

Johanna Sjoberg said she did not give Mr Jackson a massage.

Finally, No illegal activity on Jackson’s behalf is mentioned in the documents. The evidence from this witness concludes that Michael Jackson did not partake in illicit activities during his visit to Jeffrey Epstein’s Palm Beach home.

At this point, Sjoberg’s account is the only one placing Michael Jackson at Epstein’s house and at the time of publishing this is still requiring verification or additional accounts.

How did this apparent meeting come about?

Though Epstein had affiliations with half of Hollywood, tracing how Michael had the singular meeting to discuss his financial affairs could have easily led down multiple paths. The first avenue was looking at Chris Tucker, who it was claimed by a 2002 article in the New York Magazine took a trip on a private jet to Africa with Epstein, Bill Clinton and Kevin Spacey in 2002. However, documents released in the Epstein case would suggest that the stand-alone meeting came through Plymouth Partners President, James Meiskin.

Who is James Meiskin in connection to Michael Jackson?

James Meiskin met Michael Jackson on Tuesday 21st November 2000 at the Fifth Avenue home of public relations guru Howard Rubenstein when Jackson was introducing his new charity with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach to a room full of around 30 attendees. Journalist Mitchell Fink was in attendance and published this account On Thursday 23rd November 2000 in The Daily News.

From here, Meiskin assisted Michael with affairs pertaining to Real Estate and was attempting to help Michael with getting his financial affairs back in order. This included  finding Michael a property that had lower overheads than Neverland and also arranging potential deals that could inject cash into the Jackson accounts or regenerate interest in the U.S for Michael as a dynamic performer and entertainer. One such example was the performance at the Apollo Theatre on 24th April 2002, which became part of a fundraiser event and served as Michael’s final live performance in the U.S.

Meiskin turned to Florida and the story was reported that Meiskin was helping Michael Jackson look for a mansion in Florida in January 2003.

In addition, Meiskin was trying to temper Michael’s financial problems by lining up meetings with investors for business opportunities. This included financiers and investors, like Epstein. However, despite several conversations, Meiskin was unsuccessful in providing anything tangible for Michael Jackson.

To support his quest, Meiskin lent on his own legal representation, Samuel Gen. Gen was also general counsel for Plymouth Partners. Meiskin and Gen worked together on a number of projects with Gen becoming a point of contact. In a twist of events, and after Meiskin’s acquaintance with Michael Jackson ended, he (Meiskin) and Gen were both arrested on grand larceny and bribe-taking charges in October 2003.

At the time of the story that Michael was looking for a mansion in Florida, he was infact seen spending time in Miami in the first half of 2003, which is when the apparent appearance of Michael Jackson at the house is estimated to have taken place.

What was Michael doing in Palm Beach?

As with most of Michael Jackson’s life, his whereabouts is often well documented. We looked at multiple sources and documentation and found Michael to have spent a period in Florida in early 2003. Though no date has been given for the alleged visit to Epstein’s home, based on the events and key figures in Michael Jackson’s life at the time, it seems the most likely.

Michael arrived in Miami, Florida, sometime between January 12-14 2003. On January 15, Michael accompanied Barry Gibb to the post-memorial service for his brother Maurice Gibb. Barry had been too emotional to attend, and Michael agreed to support his longtime friend.

Disgraced journalist Martin Bashir arrived in Florida to conduct his final interview with Michael. The following month, the programme airs in the UK and the US and the spotlight is on Michael Jackson. While Michael had been seeking to rehabilitate his finances the year prior, the fallout from the programme saw numerous different people approached to help rejuvenate Michael’s image.

Michael’s team released a length statement to the media including quotes from Michael himself, in which he said “Everyone who knows me will know the truth which is that my children come first in my life and that I would never harm any child.”

The statement also includes a part which addresses the attempts to question Michael’s conduct with children:

Michael feels deeply angry that the programme could have led viewers to conclude that he abuses children in any way. Michael Jackson has never, and would never, treat a child inappropriately or expose them to any harm and totally refutes any suggestions to the contrary.

This statement and the TV programme are important to this particular timeline as they place the notion of “inappropriate behaviour” at the forefront of the Michael Jackson discussion and place Michael under intense (and unfair) scrutiny. Putting to one side that Michael wouldn’t anyway – the idea that amid this scrutiny, he would then seek to visit Epstein’s house for reasons other than financial advice is simply ludicrous.

In early February 2003, Michael conversed with Chris Tucker regarding the Arvizo family. Tucker had spoken with the family and informed them he was in Miami with Michael. Tucker states this was when he advised Michael to be wary of the Arvizo’s intentions.

On April 5th, still in Miami, Michael is the guest of honour at the 8th Annual Palm Beach International Film Festival Grand Gala Awards. He’s there alongside friend Chris Tucker, Rush Hour director Brett Ratner and the man Ratner calls his ‘second father’, Alvin Malnik.

….The conversation about the Malniks should be considered separate to this piece. For the time being the focus is on where Michael was and who the key figures around him were at this time….

In a 2012 interview, Malnik states – “I first met Michael about nine years ago (2003). I was told that he had heard about me and was interested in meeting, and in particular, wanted to request a tour of my house in Palm Beach.”

How did Michael’s name end up in the address book?

Unlike other celebrities whose names and personal contact details featured in the infamous address book, Michael Jackson’s did not.

What was featured was Michael’s name, with the details for Samuel Gen directly underneath. As already outlined, Samuel Gen was the attorney for James Meiskin, who, at the time, was working on finding Michael real estate in Palm Beach.

Michael Jackson never hired Samuel Gen. Nor was Samuel Gen consulting for Michael Jackson.

In fact, Gen’s legal position was questionable and court documents in 2006 show that after he left his position at Philip Morris Agency in October 1999, he “thereafter performed computer data entry on a per diem basis at placements arranged by a legal temporary employment agency.”

It also notes that “In May 2003, respondent submitted a copy of his resume to the Meridian Legal Search agency in furtherance of his search for legal employment.”

The only link between Michael Jackson and Samuel Gen was James Meiskin. If Meiskin did organise the singular financial meeting between Michael and Epstein, it’s as yet unclear how he presented himself (Meiskin) and his friend/attorney with relation to Michael Jackson in the process.

To add, the infamous address book is exactly that. An address book. There is nothing to suggest that a Hollywood financier wouldn’t have hundreds of contacts for business dealings, potential clients or previous clients, something the New York Times also noted in 2019 among the mass hysteria of this list of names being released. To suggest that everyone in this book must be guilty of a crime is not only without plausible merit, but also sets a precedent that if your details are today stored in anybody’s phone, you’re directly part of whatever activities they partake in, in their lives, legal or otherwise. Ridiculous.

With Gen submitting his resume and looking for work, Michael Jackson was still in Miami and attended a party at Miami’s Forge night-club for Malnik’s 70th Birthday.

Did Michael ever go to the island?

Little Saint James is an island located in the US virgin Islands. The island was owned by Epstein between 1998 to 2019. It’s on this island that both the alleged and convicted crimes are to have taken place.

Michael Jackson did not visit the island.

Why are people saying Michael Jackson is ‘On the list?’

Linked to the island are the ‘flight logs’ of people who are reported to have possibly visited.

Michael Jackson was not on any flight logs.

Now it is true that Michael Jackson met Epstein for financial advises. It was well documented that Michael Jackson sicked financial advises in 2001 after the Sony/Invincible Album drama. The meeting with Epstein was set by Michael’s own financial advisor at the time, James Meiskin and Samuel Gen, Meiskin’s attorney.

Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in July 2006 for soliciting prostitution from someone under the age of 18.

To also note, Michael Jackson was named in this court document for meeting Epstein at Palm Beach and NOT Epstein’s island. That list hasn’t been made public yet.

But obviously the media has gone mad this week naming Michael Jackson in all their titles despite the “story” being a nonsense.

Come on now, do you really think the list of over 170 named celebrities went to see Epstein for financial advise were aware of his sexual abuses? Journalism is really dead. But we know that “Michael Jackson” name alone sells!

  1. My understanding a few months ago concerning these pictures was/were/are that, Michael, had already been cleared by the authorities and was simply seeing, Epstein, for financial advice. Which by the was horrible decision making by and from whomever suggested and or told him do so. Michael should not have been with, Epstein, but that is also all that there is to the plot line. Nothing more. Nothing less. You have done a GREAT job with this article and pictures. I am VERY impressed…thank you…thank you…thank you.

  2. I just do not understand why they pursue on that line. It only brings them discredit in the end because it is totally nonsensical. If you want to show the world you are virtuous and a beacon of truth and democracy, be serious about it or shut up.
