Michael Jackson fans in Japan will have another chance to celebrate the King of Pop on the big screen this weekend as a special LIVE STYLE SCREENING returns to Cinema City in Tachikawa, Tokyo.
The screening will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, and will feature the 4K remastered version of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” short film.
What makes the event particularly special is that this is a LIVE STYLE SCREENING, meaning fans are encouraged to react and celebrate during the screening. Applause, shouting and the use of penlights are all permitted, creating an atmosphere closer to a live fan event than a traditional cinema screening.
This will be the 7th LIVE STYLE SCREENING held at Cinema City, following the previous event on September 12, which commemorated the anniversary of Michael Jackson’s first performance in Japan.
The organisers described the previous screening as a special atmosphere where many fans were able to share the experience together, and the LIVE STYLE format is set to continue this Sunday.
