Lord It’s a Feeling

Recently we came across an advertisement for Prada called “Prada Paradoxe” featuring Emma Watson. Actually, my mother-in-law sent it to us with the caption “Can you hear it?”.  This ad was released in summer 2022 so it is not new but when we watched it we lifted an eyebrow.

Watch it now and let’s continue…

YES! You can also hear it! Is that “Give In To Me” by Michael Jackson?

I was ready to call this article “Give In To Me Prada!” but then find out that the song used is from a British Indie-Pop band called “London Grammar” and the song is called “Lord It’s A Feeling”.

Once you’ve listened to the full song, the Chorus are clearly inspired by Michael Jackson’s “Give In To Me”.

Let’s compare the lyrics:

London Grammar:
Lord, it’s a feelingIt comes to find youLord, it’s a feeling(That I felt)It comes to find you(Like no one else)

Michael Jackson:
Love is a feelingGive it when I want it‘Cause I’m on fireQuench my desireGive it when I want itTalk to me, womanGive in to me, give in to me

The band – formed of Hannah Reid, Dominic “Dot” Major and Daniel Rothman – composed this song and produced by George FitzGerald. The song was released on April 16, 2021 from their 3rd album “Californian Soil”.

There is no information on the credits of the song or the story behind its creation, however London Grammar’s fans took the conversation to forums and they all say the same thing that the lyrics and melody of the chorus are too similar to “Give In To Me” to be a coincidence. One even said “I keep singing the wrong lyrics, I keep singing the MJ ones”.

We leave you judge of that. And if you know the band was inspired by Michael’s song, please let us know!

And just because we love this song…
