Last night, Sunset Boulevard transformed into an impromptu celebration of music, legacy, and anticipation, as Lionsgate pulled off a vibrant promotional stunt that had the city buzzing. In a move that perfectly captured the spirit of Michael Jackson, the studio set up a massive LED billboard along the iconic strip, bringing together visuals, sound, and crowd energy in a way that felt more like a live event than a marketing campaign.
The glowing screen cycled through striking visuals promoting both the upcoming film and its soundtrack album, but what truly elevated the moment was the music. Pumping through the boulevard was a setlist of Michael Jackson’s timeless classics, turning an ordinary evening into a full-on street party.

At the center of it all was DJ D-Nice, who brought his signature touch to the experience. For those unfamiliar, D-Nice (real name Derrick Jones) is far more than just a DJ, he’s a cultural force. Rising to prominence as a member of the influential hip-hop group Boogie Down Productions in the late 1980s, he later carved out a successful solo career before reinventing himself as one of the most sought-after DJs in the world. In recent years, he became globally celebrated for his “Club Quarantine” sessions during the pandemic, uniting millions through music and earning recognition from celebrities, politicians, and fans alike. His ability to read a crowd and create a shared moment made him the perfect choice for a tribute to the King of Pop.
And the crowd showed up.
Passersby quickly turned into participants as the music drew people in from all directions. Influencers, fans, and curious onlookers rushed to capture the scene, phones raised high to document the unexpected spectacle. Within minutes, the sidewalk felt like a dance floor, with strangers bonding over familiar beats and iconic hooks.
What made the stunt particularly effective was how organic it felt. Rather than a traditional advertisement, Lionsgate created an experience, one that echoed Michael Jackson’s own philosophy that music is meant to bring people together. The combination of a high-energy DJ set, legendary tracks, and bold visuals made it impossible to ignore.
It wasn’t just promotion, it was a reminder.
A reminder of Michael Jackson’s enduring impact. A reminder of how his music continues to move people, decades later. And most importantly, a reminder that at the heart of it all, Michael was about the music.
For one night on Sunset Boulevard, that message came through loud and clear.

I would like to have tickets to this event is it in Berlin or in the USA because I never got to see Michael when he was alive in concert and when he did come to my hometown it would be sold out before anybody heard that he was in town of South Bend Indiana about 45 minutes from Gary Indiana

I was 12 years old when I went to an Osmond Brothers concert at Anaheim Stadium. We had press box seats, and the Brady Bunch kids along with Karen and Richard Carpenter were there. There was 5 empty seats, for the Jackson 5. They didn’t show for the concert. It was a magical night. I continued to be a huge fan to this day. I had the the pleasure to meet Michaels Aunt and Uncle Luther just after he passed. We became good friends and took them in style to see the premier of “This Is It”. It was an honor. These are memories I’ll always treasure. I would love to win tickets to see this premiere. It would be the highlight to witness this Family’s Legacy . Still and always a Jackson Fan.
