King of Shop celebrates 10 years of loyal services

King of Shop was created in December 2011 and gave us a 10 years of pure Michael Jackson Merchandise.

It all started with “This Is It”. Bravado, the merchandise production company behind the Michael Jackson Residency THIS IS IT Tour at the O2, London and in charge of the Official Michael Jackson online store, decided to stop providing the Tour Merchandise but with a huge left over stock, they contacted MJVibe to see if the UK Fan Club could shift the remaining items.

Michael himself signed the licensing with the London Company and selected the designs for various items. During numerous meetings at Bravado’s headquarters, the team was even able to see notes left by the King of Pop himself on few of the items.

It was clear at this stage that King of Shop will be offering THIS IS IT items at a much more affordable range for all the fans around the world to be able to purchase.

But before setting up a global online store, King of Shop opened a pop-up store in central London just before Christmas 2011.

The even was such a success and funded the set up of the Online Store. King of Shop was born.

Thanks to King of Shop, fans around the world who were not able to afford the merchandise first time around, managed to order through the online store freshly live on the world wide web. A Michael Jackson Fan from Zimbabwe wrote “Thank you King of Shop! I never thought I will be owning an official This Is It T-shirt! But now I do and proudly wear it!”

Quickly, King of Shop started to offer vintage Michael Jackson items and also carried on working with Bravado to create new designs approved by the Michael Jackson Estate. One of them will actually end up in the BAD25 Limited Edition Suitcase.

The whole purpose of King of Shop was and still is to give back to the fan community. Not only for fans to complete their collection but also for new fans to discover the MJ Community.

In 2013, King of Shop sponsored MJVibe’s first event with French Photographer Christophe Boulme. For the first time in the UK, famous and unseen pictures of the King of Pop taken by Boulme were showcased in London.

This event became a key to unlock the idea of Kingvention, The European Michael Jackson Convention and King of Shop obviously became a major sponsor for the annual fan gathering.

But despite King of Shop’s involvement in Fans events, it became the main distributor of MJVibe’s own fanzine “ICONIC Magazine” with shipping to over 60 countries around the world!

The online store became also the first to pre-sale the Official Michael Jackson Calendar by doing a deal with the UK based publishing company Danilo and also offered the chance for fans who were unable to go to Las Vegas, to own a piece of the Cirque Du Soleil’s Michael Jackson ONE show merchandise range.

It also offers more vintage items, collectors, MJ related items and other Jacksons merchandise.

King of Shop also listened to the fans and in 2021, a brand new website has been set to take more payment methods but also a more friendly navigation throughout the website experience.

Despite not been recognised by the official body of the Michael Jackson Estate, King of Shop grown to be recognised in the fan community and to thank all the fans that have been supporting the online store for the last 10 years, King of Shop is giving all a 10% Discount for a limited time.
