Japanese Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 collectors will have another release to look forward to this month, as Universal Music Japan prepares to reissue The Jackson 5 Christmas Album on SHM-CD.
Scheduled for October 28, 2026, the release will be available for ¥3,300 (tax included) under catalogue number UICY-16522. The Japanese edition will include lyrics, Japanese translations and commentary, alongside the high-quality SHM-CD format.
Originally released in October 1970, The Jackson 5 Christmas Album remains a holiday favourite, showcasing the extraordinary voice of a young Michael Jackson across 12 festive tracks. Highlights include “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” and the much-loved “Give Love on Christmas Day.”
The announcement follows Universal Music Japan’s major Motown-era reissue campaign earlier this year, which saw eight Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson albums re-released on SHM-CD in May, alongside a new Michael Jackson & Jackson 5 – The Best compilation, celebrating the renewed interest surrounding the biopic Michael.
With the Christmas season approaching, this latest Japanese release gives collectors another opportunity to add a classic from the Jackson 5 catalogue to their shelves and revisit the festive recordings that have delighted generations of fans.
