The Hollywood Creative Alliance has announced the nominees for the 2026 Astra Midseason Movie Awards, with Michael receiving recognition in two major acting categories.
Jaafar Jackson has been nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of Michael Jackson, marking another significant milestone for the highly anticipated biopic. He joins a competitive lineup that includes Chiwetel Ejiofor (Backrooms), Leo Woodall (Tuner), Ralph Fiennes (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple), Robert Pattinson (The Drama), and Ryan Gosling (Project Hail Mary).
Also receiving recognition is Colman Domingo, who has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Michael. Domingo’s nomination places him alongside Dustin Hoffman (Tuner), Dylan O’Brien (Send Help), Edward Norton (The Invite), Jack O’Connell (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple), and James Ortiz (Project Hail Mary).
The Astra Midseason Movie Awards celebrate the best films and performances released during the first half of the year. Final voting is currently underway, with the winners set to be announced on June 30 across the Astra Awards’ social media platforms.
The dual acting nominations are another encouraging sign for Michael, which continues to generate strong industry recognition following its worldwide release.
