Japanese fans of Michael Jackson’s Michael biopic have another collectible card to add to their collections, with the latest admission gift now available in cinemas across Japan.
As MJVibe reported back in June, Japanese cinemas have been celebrating the release of Michael with a series of exclusive admission gifts, including special collectible cards featuring iconic moments from Michael Jackson’s career.
The latest card is the “Beat It” ver., featuring Jaafar Jackson as Michael Jackson recreating the legendary look and attitude from one of Michael’s most iconic short films.
The card officially became available on Friday, August 7, marking the sixth wave of admission gifts for the Japanese release of Michael. Multiple Japanese cinema chains confirm that the card is being distributed to moviegoers while supplies last.
A Growing Collection
The Michael collectible card campaign has already become a fun way for Japanese fans to celebrate the movie, with different designs being released throughout its theatrical run.
The current series includes:
- Young MJ ver. — July 10–23
- Billie Jean ver. — July 24–August 6
- Beat It ver. — August 7–20
- Bad ver. — August 21–September 4
The next card, featuring the “Bad” look, is scheduled to begin distribution on August 21.
The cards are admission gifts rather than items sold separately, and cinemas note that distribution is limited and will end once supplies run out. Fans are also generally limited to one gift per movie admission.
Jaafar’s “Beat It” Moment
For Michael Jackson fans, the “Beat It” card is particularly special. Jaafar Jackson recreates one of Michael’s most recognizable eras in Michael, bringing the iconic imagery of the 1982 hit into the biopic.
The film’s Japanese theatrical campaign has already included several exclusive collectibles, with the collectible card series giving fans another reason to return to theaters and continue building their Michael collection.
And with the “Bad” ver. arriving on August 21, Japanese fans still have another card to look forward to.
MJVibe will continue to follow the Japanese Michael releases and exclusive merchandise as the movie continues its impressive theatrical run.
