Accusers can pursue lawsuits against Michael Jackson’s companies, court says.

A California appeals court ruled that Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who appeared in the movie “Leaving Neverland,” could pursue their claims because of a change in California law.

A lower court had dismissed lawsuits brought by the two men in 2014 because California’s statute of limitations required that claims of childhood sexual abuse be filed before an accuser’s 26th birthday.

However a new law, which came into effect on 1 January, extends the timeframe up to a person’s 40th birthday.

Both Mr Robson and Mr Safechuck claim they were abused by Michael Jackson from the ages of seven and 10.

Vince Finaldi, the lawyer for the two men, said in a statement following the ruling: “We are pleased that the Court has recognised the strong protections California has put into place for sexual abuse victims under the state’s new law extending the statute of limitations.”

Howard Weitzman, a lawyer for Jackson’s estate, said: “The Court of Appeal’s ruling merely revived lawsuits against Michael Jackson’s companies, which absurdly claim that Michael’s employees are somehow responsible for sexual abuse that never happened.”

This may seems as a step back, but we knew this will happen and the whole “Leaving Neverland” saga was to pursue this stage and go back in court. But Robson and Safechuck still have to prove their says which we all know are all lies! The court battle is now on!

And the good news is that Tom Mesereau is currently an advisor for the Michael Jackson Estate. Mesereau knows more than anyone else about Robson and Safechuck as he interrogated them back in 2005.

  1. Anything for money. I am so sick of these two liars trying to extort whatever they can from Michael. Seems to be one rule for some and not for others. Michael must be singing Leave Me Alone up in Heaven. Hopefully Taj’s film will put them in their place. I am so sad and angry.

  2. I know we expected this, and as much as I hate to see those two frauds get another day in court to tell their lies, perhaps this will be the undoing of their plans to defraud the Estate and Michael’s heirs. By the way, I much prefer your “Michael Jackson is Innocent” artwork to the MJ Innocent campaign poster. Very relevant and effective.

  3. One thing for sure is, I am glad that Tom Mesereau is advising for the estate. I guess the dirty dogs will have their day in court. They will just be proven liars, as always they are.
