Jaafar Jackson and Colman Domingo Win Astra Awards

Michael has claimed two major victories at the 2026 Astra Midseason Movie Awards, with both Jaafar Jackson and Colman Domingo taking home acting honors.

Jaafar Jackson won the Best Actor award for his acclaimed portrayal of Michael Jackson, adding another prestigious accolade to his breakout performance in the biopic. Jackson was recognized ahead of fellow nominees Chiwetel Ejiofor (Backrooms), Leo Woodall (Tuner), Ralph Fiennes (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple), Robert Pattinson (The Drama), and Ryan Gosling (Project Hail Mary).

Colman Domingo also emerged victorious, winning Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal in Michael. He prevailed over a strong field that included Dustin Hoffman (Tuner), Dylan O’Brien (Send Help), Edward Norton (The Invite), Jack O’Connell (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple), and James Ortiz (Project Hail Mary).

The double win marks an impressive achievement for Michael, with both of its lead acting performances recognized by the Hollywood Creative Alliance at this year’s Astra Midseason Movie Awards.

Congratulations to Jaafar Jackson and Colman Domingo on their well-deserved wins!
