Propstore’s Music Memorabilia Live Auction to Feature Rare Michael Jackson Items

This October, Propstore returns with another spectacular Music Memorabilia Live Auction, offering collectors the chance to acquire some of the rarest and most iconic pieces from music history. The two-day event will take place on October 23 and 24, 2025, with Day 1 featuring a live auction (bidding available in person, online, by phone, or via absentee bids) and Day 2 as a timed online-only auction.

As always, the “King of Pop” will take centre stage, with several unique and highly coveted Michael Jackson items going under the hammer.

Highlight Lots

Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” Music Video White Fedora (1988)

Estimate: £40,000 – £80,000
One of the most recognisable pieces from Jackson’s career, this white fedora was worn in the legendary Smooth Criminal short film. Directed by Colin Chilvers and featured in Moonwalker, the video’s choreography—especially the iconic “anti-gravity lean”—cemented its place in pop culture history.

The fedora was gifted by Jackson to costumier Phillip Dennis after filming, and is one of only a handful of known originals. Accompanied by extensive provenance, this is expected to be one of the most sought-after Michael Jackson lots ever offered at auction.

Michael Jackson’s Custom-Made Black Sequin Jacket (1986)

Estimate: £20,000 – £40,000
Designed by Bill Whitten, the man behind Jackson’s rhinestone glove and crystal socks, this stunning jacket was worn during the planning stages of the Bad Tour. The piece features gold buttons, red satin cuffs, and a brooch, and was later gifted to longtime production manager Benny Collins.

Michael Jackson’s Bad Tour Stage-Worn Fedora (1987)

Estimate: £8,000 – £16,000
This Golden Gate Hat Company fedora was worn on stage during the Bad World Tour, notably during Jackson’s performance of Heartbreak Hotel in Osaka, Japan. Complete with provenance from MJJ Productions, it represents one of the artist’s most enduring style signatures.

The Omer Bhatti Collection: Michael Jackson’s Black Corduroy Shirt

Estimate: £6,000 – £12,000
Worn during Bad Tour rehearsals and during Jackson’s 1998 trip to Namibia, this shirt was personally gifted to Jackson’s close friend Omer Bhatti at Neverland. With its red-and-gold satin embellishments, it embodies Jackson’s custom fashion aesthetic.

Michael Jackson’s Personally-Owned White Fedora (1990)

Estimate: £6,000 – £12,000
A personally-owned fedora gifted by Jackson to a charity auction in 1990. Bearing “Michael Jackson” in gold text inside the sweatband, this elegant hat recalls the singer’s enduring love of fedoras.

The Omer Bhatti Collection: Michael Jackson’s Custom-Made Bubbles Hand-Puppet Doll

Estimate: £2,500 – £5,000
A quirky and personal piece, this puppet of Jackson’s famous chimpanzee Bubbles was displayed at Neverland before being gifted to Omer Bhatti. The puppet, made in Mexico in 1995, is a unique example of Jackson’s playful side and his bond with his beloved pet.

Additional Highlights

The auction also includes autographs, tour jackets, and other memorabilia connected to Jackson’s career, alongside pieces from a wide range of legendary artists including Madonna, U2, The Rolling Stones, and many more.
