Following the recent 4K release of Black or White, Michael Jackson’s opulent short film Remember the Time has now been upscaled, making it the second short film from the Dangerous era to receive the high-definition treatment.
Premiering in February 1992, Remember the Time was a lavish, cinematic experience directed by John Singleton and set in an idealized vision of ancient Egypt. Featuring Eddie Murphy, Iman, and Magic Johnson, the short film merged Hollywood star power with elaborate choreography, striking visuals, and a romantic storyline that captured the imagination of millions.
The newly upscaled version offers richer colors and sharper detail, bringing fresh life to the ornate sets, intricate costumes, and mesmerizing dance sequences. Fans can now appreciate every shimmering detail of Michael’s iconic gold outfit and the grandeur of the palace setting like never before.
Black or White’s upgrade has sparked mixed reactions. While many are thrilled to see another of Michael’s classics in higher quality, others question whether the “uprezzed” process used truly does justice to the original film elements and missing scenes.
Regardless of the debate, Remember the Time seems to have had a bit more attention. Let us know your thoughts.
