Xscape re-enters UK top 40!

xScape deluxe

It’s just short of 8 months since the Estate of Michael Jackson released Xscape, the 2014 album from the King of Pop. However as of 7th January, 2015, the UK album mid-week charts revealed that the album has returned to the UK top 40 album charts, landing at number 31.

On it’s first week of release, Xscape topped the UK Charts with sales of 47,768 copies. The result of a strong promotional campaign by Epic Records, TV Commercial, General Interest and not forgetting MJVibe’s Xscape Launch event at HMV.

Promotion for Xscape ceased after the summer period last year and it seems there is no further plans to release tracks from the project as stand alone singles. There has been no reality TV plugs (here’s looking at you X Factor) and the Estate have not mentioned the project in the last few weeks, so it’s unclear as to what has caused the sudden surge in sales on the UK market.

UK Music leading retailer HMV continues to sell the album at full price (Standard & deluxe) as does Amazon UK.

Needless to say, the small surge in sales only continues to prove the power of Michael Jackson’s music and the impact it has on people across the UK and around the world.
