As of today, owners of select XperiaTM smartphones are able to download a copy of the King of Pop’s hotly anticipated brand new album XSCAPE and stream it through Sony’s Music Unlimited1 service.
Owners of the new Xperia Z2, M2 and Z2 Tablet just need to check the “What’s New” widget on the smartphone’s homescreen or open the Xperia Lounge app from the app tray, tap the promotion on the home screen and follow the instructions for the album download. Alternatively, all Music Unlimited customers can access the album by streaming it through the Music Unlimited section in the WALKMAN app on their Xperia device. 30-days free trial of Music Unlimited is on offer to all users signing-up for a new account.
XSCAPE is comprised of a long-awaited collection of 8 songs with an exclusive bonus track (the Papercha$er remix of “Chicago”), available only for select Xperia users. Originally recorded between 1983 and 1999 the songs have been re-mastered and contemporised by the production trio of John Branca, John McLain and Timbaland.
The album’s availability to Xperia users is part of the “One Sony” global collaboration and will see unique experiences offered to Sony customers across the group’s companies. Owners of select Xperia devices2 will be able to experience XSCAPE in a totally unique way by enabling ClearAudio+TM in the WALKMAN app. This activates a custom audio tuning mode, developed in consultation with Epic records Chairman and CEO L.A. Reid.
