The Michael Jackson Fan behind the 2015 Baltimore Protests

In April 2015, Baltimore saw a huge protests that followed Freddie Gray’s hospitalization and death in police custody. Despite the 250 arrests, over 350 businesses damaged, 150 vehicles fires, 27 stores looted, one man made the news for dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” in the middle of the turmoil.

The man in question is Dimitri Reeves who has been street preforming for years and moonwalking along a crosswalk during rush hours.

Clearly a Michael Jackson Fan from a young age, Reeves has been preforming different songs from different artists but he made National headline in 2015 and became “The Michael Jackson protester”.

He often says that he uses his music and performances as a way to spread positivity in the community where people do not have access to live theatres or big name concerts.

His performances are often captured and shared on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and TikTok.
