SONIC THE HEDGEHOG inspired by Michael Jackson

Sonic The Hedgehog is coming to the cinema in November 2019 with Jim Carrey.

As fans, we all know the link between the little speedy blue character and Michael Jackson and most specifically Michael Jackson’s relation with Sega!

Finding out that Michael Jackson probably wrote the music for Sonic 3 taken from “Stranger In Moscow” is a given!

The film director followed up the 90’s trend and how Sonic was inspired by Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson’s influence can still be found in just about every Sonic game. When Sonic the Hedgehog was in development during the early 90s, Sega already had a relationship with the King of Pop, having developed and published the Mega Drive and Arcade versions of his 1990 beat-em’ up video game, Moonwalker.

In a 2009 interview, Naoto Ohshima was asked why Sonic’s shoes have their Santa Claus coloring. Ohshima replied. “His shoes were inspired by the cover to Michael Jackson’s Bad, which contrasted heavily between white and red — that Santa Claus-type color. I also thought that red went well for a character who can run really fast, when his legs are spinning.”

We will have to wait till November 8 to see if the King of Pop was including in the film version of the famous video game! Until then, check out the trailer:
