Peruvians Street artists team up: Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury

Street shows and artists are popular in Latin America. In Peru, two friends who have been doing street shows respectively imitating Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury have now teamed up to a better show.

Brian Chávez Aguilar (28) has been characterizing pop icon Michael Jackson for more than twenty years in Lima’s busiest avenues, boulevards and shopping centers, as well as parties, weddings, birthdays and various events.

“Before there was no internet, so I learned everything with videos. When I saw the music video for “Billie Jean”, I was captivated by Michael Jackson” said father of three who once dreamed to become a lawyer. Brian has also worked on the side as a bricklayer, electrician, painter and anything he could do.

“My Children also dance but I wouldn’t want them to do this because the streets are hard. I will do whatever it takes for them to study and become professionals”.

Jhony Milla Hidalgo (37) is characterizing the lead-singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury, he is a theater actor, acrobat, mime, has worked in circuses for a long time and has a pastry shop.

“Since I was a child, I had it clear, I wanted to do something that makes me feel free and happy. I only played Freddie twelve years ago and he has given me that: freedom” said Jhony. “My Favorite song is “I Want to Break Free” because it talks about freedom and he gave me that”.

The both are now performing together to get as much viewers as possible and bring more revenues to their families. A very interesting concept and duo!
