Paris Jackson Vows to Press On After Judge Dismisses Key Claims in Estate Dispute

Paris Jackson’s legal clash with the executors of the Michael Jackson Estate has entered a new phase, with the 27-year-old reaffirming her commitment to pursue accountability despite a recent court setback.

The dispute, which first surfaced publicly in July, centers on what Paris describes as “irregular” or “premium” payments approved by estate executors John Branca and John McClain. According to her filings, a “closely-knit, highly-compensated” legal team has allegedly been operating with minimal oversight, even, she claims, skimming funds from the estate through unapproved attorney fees.

On November 10, Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff granted the Estate’s special motion to strike most of Paris’s petition, ruling that many of her challenges were based on filings protected under the First Amendment and California’s anti-SLAPP laws. The judge also ordered Paris to cover the Estate’s legal fees, a clear procedural win for Branca and McClain.

But Paris is far from conceding.
A spokesperson told that the ruling “is limited to minor procedural issues and does not change the facts,” adding that she will be submitting an updated filing soon. “The pattern of behavior displayed by the executors and their attorneys raises significant red flags, and Paris will continue working to ensure her family is treated fairly.”

Her concerns centre on attorney payouts, including what she claims were over $375,000 in unsanctioned fees and a call for court-supervised approval of legal expenses incurred between 2019 and 2023. Only a small portion of her petition, focused on billing transparency and filing pace, remains active after the ruling.

The Estate, meanwhile, strongly denies any wrongdoing.
Branca and McClain argue that Paris has benefitted enormously, reportedly receiving around $65 million and that their stewardship has transformed what they described as an estate burdened by “nothing but debt and substantial ongoing obligations” in 2009 into a powerhouse now valued at over $2 billion.

This disagreement marks the most public rift to date between Paris and the executors responsible for protecting and expanding Michael Jackson’s legacy. While the Estate continues to maintain its broad authority, Paris has made clear that transparency and oversight remain her priorities moving forward.

As this legal chapter unfolds, fans can expect further filings and likely, more debate over how the King of Pop’s legacy is being managed behind the scenes.
