Update on this article (03/04/2026): Following the release of this article, which addressed whether those cards were officially licensed by “Triumph International LLC”, we contacted the MJ Online Team, who handle all fan communications. They have confirmed that the trading cards are neither official nor officially licensed. These are not Official Michael Jackson Trading Cards.
In June 2025, we reported on the latest wave of fan-made collectible trading cards from Collector’s Chance, a project that once again sparked debate within the Michael Jackson collector community over the ethics of turning historical memorabilia into “relic” products. At the time, discussions centred around cut-up fragments of items such as a glove attributed to Michael Jackson, with fans divided between those excited by the opportunity to own a tangible piece of history and those questioning whether such items should be altered at all.
Now, the same company has returned with another release that is already reigniting debate.
This time, Collector’s Chance is promoting a new set of trading cards described as containing a worn pajama relic associated with Michael Jackson. The latest product line features three variants: Red Ice priced at $199, Silver Ice at $299, and Gold Ice at $350, with an additional bundle offering all three for $599.
It also seems that, as per the website and item’s description, that those cards are licenced “Triumph International”. The Estate of Michael Jackson has been contacted for confirmation on that matter.

According to the information shared with collectors, the pajama material originates from a black satin item reportedly worn by Michael Jackson. The item itself has previously been shown publicly at a fan exhibition in Budapest, Hungary, an event linked to collector and exhibition organiser Balazs Nagy.
However, as with previous releases, the announcement has not come without renewed scrutiny.
On social media, some fans who claim to have attended the Budapest exhibition described the experience as enjoyable but not necessarily worth travelling specifically for. More notably, a few attendees from the same group have also raised questions about the presentation and authenticity of certain displayed items, suggesting that not everything shown was clearly verified or documented in a way that satisfied all visitors.
These concerns have now carried over into discussion around the pajama material being used for the new trading cards. The item was publicly displayed at the exhibition, but is now being separated for these cards.
Further adding to the conversation are unverified and strongly disputed allegations circulating among some fans regarding the items. These claims suggest, allegedly, that the same pajama item may have been listed for sale on eBay on separate occasions under different accounts. It must be stressed that these remain allegations raised within fan communities and online discussions, with no formal confirmation or verified documentation presented publicly to substantiate them. Balazs Nagy has always asserted the items are authentic and his intentions with the cards are motivated by a desire to give fans the chance to own a piece of Michael Jackson history.
Nonetheless, such claims have contributed to a growing atmosphere of skepticism surrounding the project. Some collectors have also pointed to past releases from Collector’s Chance and suggested, again, allegedly, that earlier trading cards may have contained questionable or unverified internal materials. Others have been extremely happy with their purchase and feel that owning even a small part of something Michael Jackson once wore is an exciting addition to their collection.
It’s worth noting that when Panini trading cards released an official set through the Michael Jackson Estate in 2011, these included fabric swatches from costumes worn by Michael Jackson during the Jackson 5.
These differing viewpoints remain part of the ongoing online debate rather than established fact, but they continue to circulate and influence perception within parts of the collector community.
At the centre of the discussion remains the same fundamental question that has followed Collector’s Chance since its early releases: Should it be physically cut and embedded into trading cards for commercial sale?
For supporters, the appeal is straightforward. Official Michael Jackson memorabilia is often rare, expensive, and inaccessible to most fans. These cards offer a more attainable way to own something presented as being directly connected to the artist. For critics, however, the concern is that dividing personal or historically significant items risks crossing a line into losing whole pieces of musical history.
As with previous drops, Collector’s Chance appears to be positioning the release as a continuation of its niche within the fan memorabilia space.
Ultimately, the response to the pajama relic cards reflects a broader divide that continues to shape the collector world: between those who see these items as meaningful fragments of music history, and those who believe that history should remain intact.
As always, fans are encouraged to carefully consider available information and conduct their own research before making any purchasing decisions.

I just want to say thank you to the MJVibe team for doing such a brilliant job. This is, like many others, a very well written article covering all sides of a controversial topic. I’m a journalist myself and I must say that the MJ community should be a thankful to have such a source of neutral coverage. I do hope everyone is aware of this. Please keep up the good work. Just one request: when I read such a well written article, I would love to know who wrote it.
C’est effectivement très douteux comme carte et faire de l’argent de cette manière n’est pas digne d’un fan et d’une personne sérieuse.
