Michael Jackson Flags – An Essential Fan Item!

When you’re a fan of someone, you want the world to know. The best way to do this is by wearing a t-shirt. Fans of Guns & Roses and The Rolling Stones are well know for brandishing their band across their chest and in recent years, Michael Jackson fans are no exception. Like a threw back to the early 90s, you often see a person in a Michael Jackson t-shirt and think “Hello friend!”. But Michael Jackson had another piece of merchandise that fans went crazy for….The flag!

The flag was the perfect item to have to hand as it had so many uses. It was the perfect banner for the barriers outside Michael’s hotel. It could be used for it’s actual purpose: A flag on a pole. It was used by many fans as an MJ ‘Cape’ tied around the neck. Best of all, it could be folded in to a compact square and placed in the pocket.

KING! Magazine, an MJ approved magazine, also released a flag featuring Michael in all his glory on the Dangerous World Tour.

The flags were like an additional badge of honour. You’d attend a Michael Jackson event. You’d have your Michael Jackson vintage t-shirt, your fedora, your taped-fingers, 53050506your badges and the piece de resistance – Your flag! The flags were also prominent at award shows such as the World Music Awards in 2006, The Brits 96 and the 2005 trial. Needless to say, Michael could always locate his fans in a crowded room, right beneath the flag!

King of Shop continually push to locate the official Michael Jackson flags and bring them back to the fans, ushering in a new generation of flag wearers (basically you’re a Superhero in that MJ cape!) and at the present time we have 2 versions available.

The first is the LA Gear shot that was released in flag form in conjunction with the HIStory tour. The second is a Bad era flag that’s well recognised amongst the fans.
