Michael Jackson‘s estate reportedly turned down a request from Adam Sandler to use the King of Pop’s image in a new 3D movie.  Sandler and Sony Pictures requested to use Jackson’s likeness for a new film planned for summer 2015 titled Pixels.

News of the request and subsequent denial were leaked as part of the massive hack on Sony’s email systems.

The company has threatened legal action against many people supposedly involved in the hack including musician Val Broeksmit, who allegedly posted the details of the Jackson request to his Twitter feed, according to allaccess.com.

According to the site, Sony called in the help of their chairwoman Amy Pascal in an attempt to persuade the Jacksons.  They allegedly presented the proposed likeness of Jackson alongside a host of other 1980s stars including Mr. T, Hall and Oates and Bruce Springsteen.
