International choreographer and director Travis Payne, will give a free workshop with the music of the king of pop to young Dominican fans of dance and music.
This event is part of the cultural initiatives for the benefit of Dominican youth Good for the Arts, Inc., an international non-profit arts organization.
More than 100 young people will participate to the workshop sessions given by Travis Payne and will be part of a live performance with the music of Michael Jackson in the surroundings of the Church of San Anton, in the Colonial Zone, this Saturday, August 19.
Another of the notable artists that are part of this project is Freddie Hendricks, Acclaimed by critics, creator of original productions and acting master.
Mr. Hendricks has worked with young people around the world teaching his art and Travis has done it for Michael Jackson for years.
The performance of the young participants in the project will be recorded in an audiovisual, in tribute to Michel Jackson, which will be released on August 29, hours before the artist’s birthday, which would turn 59 this year. “We want this project to be a show of strength, hope, love and unity,” says Michael Mario Good.
The Good for the Arts (GFTA) non-profit organization, based in Atlanta, Georgia, develops cultural initiatives aimed at young people with artistic concerns to live the experience of working and learning with art and entertainment professionals.
GFTA’s mission is to spark creativity and individual greatness globally through the transformative performing arts and charitable works.
Good for the Arts will continue to develop arts programs in the Dominican Republic that are focused on providing opportunities to nurture and develop the talent of emerging generations.
