Babyface and Teddy Riley took the Fan community by storm Monday with a “Teddy Riley vs Babyface” on social media. Not only both of them played mixes but they also told stories about the artists they worked with.
While we were waiting for some unreleased MJ vocals from Teddy, instead we got a cute little story from Babyface about Michael and … Halle Berry.
While Riley was playing SWV “Right Here” which sampled “Human Nature” by Michael, Babyface recalled:
“One time Michael called me,”
“Michael said, ‘Babyface!’ I said, ‘Yeah?’ He said, ‘Do you know who Halle Berry is? Do you know Halle Berry?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I know Halle Berry.’ He said, ‘Could you do me a favor? I want you to call her, ’cause I wanna take her out on a date.’ I said, ‘What?’ He said, ‘Call her — I wanna take her out on a date.’”
“So I reached out through the agent, ’cause I didn’t have Halle Berry’s number. So I called and get the message to her manager, and he said, ‘What?’ [I said,] ‘Yeah, he wants to take her out on a date.’ And then I was waiting to hear back from Halle, and I can’t tell you exactly what Halle said, but I imagine it probably would have been something like this …”

Cute! And wandering if Halle Berry called back Michael?
During the Verzuz, Babyface also said that Michael was mad at Madonna.
Madonna had asked Michael Jackson to dress as a girl for the music video to ‘In the Closet’ in 1991. Babyface revealed that the King of Pop had told him, “‘Babyface, can you believe she wants me to dress like a girl?’ He was like, ‘I’d never do that.’ He said, ‘She was trying to change it all up. It was crazy’ … He was really mad about it.”
While we know about that story, we glad it never happened and Naomi Campbell was the final cast for the video but still, would have been amazing to have a duet between Michael and Madonna, don’t you think?
