Korean singer Ahn Chi-hwan has released a new song on February 12 named “A Woman Who Loos Like Michael Jackson” and his now getting a lot of heat for it.
The song is a satire about politician and presidential candidate Yoon Suk-yeol’s wife, Kim Kun-hee.
The lyrics of ‘What are you doing’ (Why are you doing this / What are you dreaming of / What are you hoping for / Are you crazy / What are you coveting / What are you craving for / You should know yourself / What are you doing?) repeated He is being criticized for mocking Kim and pop singer Michael Jackson’s appearance with expressions such as “a woman who resembles Michael Jackson, a woman who has changed her face several times, and a woman who has changed her name many times.”
Kim admitted she did multiple esthetical modifications to her face and the singer compared her to the King of Pop.
But it back-fired! People took on social media to criticise the singer saying that it is ok to have political ideas and ideologies but it is not acceptable to insult a woman’s look nor Michael Jackson’s.
Not only Korean feminists and Michael Jackson fans are after apologies from the singer but also politicians have now voiced their disappointment of such misogyny.
Ahn, 56, is well known to do rebel songs about dark times in the democratic Korea but it seems that he lost touch with reality and within the cancel era we are living in, he might get cancelled himself.
