One week ago today, Michael Jackson fans from across the UK and beyond gathered at London’s historic Glaziers Hall for what became one of the most memorable editions of Kingvention to date.
On May 30, 2026, Kingvention returned with a cinematic theme inspired by Michael Jackson’s unparalleled career on screen and the excitement surrounding Michael, the official biopic. With 266 fans in attendance and the event selling out for the first time in its history, the day proved to be a true celebration of Michael’s artistry, creativity, and enduring legacy.
From the moment the doors opened at 10:30am, fans were immersed in a world dedicated to the King of Pop. Attendees explored an impressive collection of exhibits, including Propstore’s display of authentic Michael Jackson items, the immersive StudiEO exhibition celebrating the making of Captain EO, and the newly introduced Cafe EO, a relaxing chill-out space sponsored by PopCrown where fans could connect throughout the day.
Adding to the fun was a special Twister game inspired by scenes from the Michael biopic, while vendors filled the venue with unique artwork, books, collectibles, and official merchandise.
The stage programme opened in spectacular fashion with a performance from London-based vocal group Vocal Shack. Their energetic interpretations of Michael Jackson classics immediately set the tone for the day and had the audience singing along from the very first note.
The first special guest to take the stage was legendary producer, songwriter, musician, and synthesizer programmer Bill Wolfer. Known for his work with Michael Jackson and The Jacksons during the Triumph Tour era and on projects including Thriller and “Say Say Say,” Wolfer shared fascinating stories from inside the studio and behind the scenes of one of music’s most groundbreaking periods. His warmth, humour, and incredible memories made his session a highlight of the event.
Next came Hugo Huizar, the talented popping and street dancer who appeared in Captain EO and Smooth Criminal. Huizar delighted fans with stories from the set of Michael’s iconic projects and offered a unique perspective on what it was like working alongside the world’s greatest entertainer. His passion for dance and his admiration for Michael resonated strongly with the audience.
After a short break, fans were treated to something truly special. Former child actor Seth Smith, remembered by fans for his appearance in Ghosts, took part in his first-ever public fan event. His stories were heartfelt, funny, and often unexpected, providing a rare glimpse into the making of one of Michael’s most ambitious short films. For many attendees, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear directly from someone involved in the project.
Throughout the day, fans had the chance to meet all three guests during autograph and photo sessions, creating memories that will undoubtedly last forever.
Meanwhile, the Neverland Library discussion sessions offered deeper conversations about Michael’s work and legacy, while the exhibitions and social spaces ensured there was always something to discover around every corner.
As evening arrived, the celebration was far from over.
The now-famous Burn This Disco Out after-party transformed Glaziers Hall into a dancefloor worthy of the King of Pop himself. DJ WIZ kept the energy at maximum level, filling the room with Michael Jackson classics and fan favourites as attendees danced, sang, and celebrated late into the night. The party continued until midnight, providing the perfect ending to an unforgettable day.
Kingvention 2026 was more than just a fan convention, it was a celebration of Michael Jackson’s impact on music, film, dance, and popular culture. The combination of unique guests, immersive experiences, fascinating exhibits, and a passionate fan community created an atmosphere unlike any previous edition.
Most importantly, it demonstrated once again that Michael Jackson’s legacy remains as vibrant and inspiring as ever.
For everyone who attended, Kingvention 2026 was not simply an event, it was an experience. And with the excitement surrounding Michael continuing to build, the future has never looked brighter for fans around the world.
