Kingvention 2022… Needs your help!

Since COVID-19 drowned the world into lockdowns and millions of death around the world, The European Michael Jackson Convention, Kingvention was put on hold with their last event in 2019.

Pez Jax, the creator of the event, said in 2020: “The safety of the fans and guests are the most important to us. While we are not able to get together in person, we have organised a 3 hours virtual event with special guests, interviews, performances and special reports.”

Since 2015, the Michael Jackson Convention has been running on a loss as Jax refuses to put the ticket prices up to able all to attend. “Michael was all about his fans and making sure they can all enjoy his music and performances, Kingvention is keeping his mantra to be accessible to all but we also, like Michael, want to put the best event possible. Michael always wanted to have the best of the best and Kingvention is the same, not only by respect to Michael but also to his fans!”

Jax told us that while they considered other cities or countries, London is the best location as it is a crossroad with multiple access through Air and Rail for all European fans to be able to access the city, no matter where they are from. “London can be accessible from all over the world, by plane, train, car and boat. But it has also so much options for accommodation for those who are coming for few days, depending on their budget”.

But doing a great event in one of the most expensive city in the world has a cost! “For sure we could find a School Hall or a venue outside and doing the event on the cheap” said Jax “but that is not what Michael was about”

“Kingvention was always about Michael and his fans, a place where we can all come together, learn new things about our idol, being emotional together, crying and laughing together! Elvis fans have this! The Beatles fans have this! And Kingvention is for the Michael Jackson fans!”

While the event always ran on a string, COVID-19 has damaged their budget even more. Venues, accommodations, transportations have all increase in price and while all the staff working at Kingvention are volunteers, the team has decided to ask for help.

Sebastian Mille, who is in charge of the budget and all the logistics of the event told us “I hate asking fans for help! They should just be able to purchase a ticket and come on the day to enjoy. But the last few years have been tough for all of us and as we still want to keep it fair in terms of ticket price for those with a smaller budget, I don’t see what else we can do! Fans have been amazing supporting this project and it is even more important now with the aftermath of “Leaving Neverland”. In 2019, we managed to get a 3-storey-heigh imagery of Michael Jackson in central London and for 2022 we have even crazier ideas!”

Mille also confirmed that Kingvention will be taking place in 2022 and even a date is set. “We have a set date, the venue is confirmed and we are talking to few guests for the event. We have been working also on a new website for months and we are hoping to give more information to the fans soon”

But for now, they need your help to lift the project up. All donations will help to keep the project at float and to produce an extraordinary event that Michael himself would be proud of. As Jax said “We always create the event with the thought that Michael is seating in the room. We want to make him proud”
