Joel Schumacher is not a familiar name to the fan but Joel wrote the screenplay / writer for The Wiz in 1978.
Joel also directed “The Lost Boys” and 2 of the batman movies: “Batman Forever” (1995) and “Batman and Robin” (1997) and many more!
Dan Beck, Sony Marketing Director during the HIStory era recalls that he contacted Joel to direct one of Michael’s video hoping the man to direct “You Are Not Alone” but due to the Batman franchise and scheduling, it never happened.
Joel Schumacher died at the age of 80 in New York of cancer.
