Just days after rumours surfaced that the Michael biopic may premiere at London’s O2 Arena next spring, new claims suggest the Jackson family is not pleased, particularly over talk of a holographic “resurrection” being used as part of the event.
According to industry chatter, executives involved in the film have floated the idea of recreating Michael Jackson on stage via hologram technology during the premiere, a supposed nod to the This Is It concerts he never had the chance to perform.
But family insiders are allegedly furious, calling the idea “ghoulish”, “macabre”, and “deeply disrespectful.” They reportedly believe such a spectacle would exploit Michael’s passing rather than honour his legacy.
One family insider is quoted as saying:
“Michael was a perfectionist. The idea of digitally resurrecting him for marketing purposes would have horrified him. It feels like they’re trying to profit off his death all over again.”
The suggestion of recreating Michael’s final planned performances has reportedly struck an especially raw nerve. Those close to the star have long spoken about the intense physical and emotional demands during the This Is It preparations, a period many believe contributed to the stress and circumstances surrounding his tragic passing.
The family source continued:
“This attempt to resurrect him, in a show focusing on one of the hardest periods of his life, is totally ghoulish.”
A Sensitive Legacy and a Divided Fan Response
The rumour has already sparked debate among fans, some arguing that such digital recreations honour Michael’s artistry, and others insisting that nothing can replace his presence or perfectionism.
With emotions running high and the biopic already carrying enormous expectations, it’s clear that the way Michael’s legacy is handled will continue to be closely watched, not just by fans, but by those who knew and loved him most.
Important Note
As with previous reports, nothing is confirmed.
No official statements have been made by the Jackson Estate, the film’s producers, or the O2 Arena regarding premiere plans or hologram elements.
We will continue monitoring updates as they develop.

Don’t agree with Hologram premier,
Keep it REAL !! I wouldn’t pay money to watch a HOLOGRAM & I know Michael wouldn’t want fans to waste their money to watch a HOLOGRAM either , 😉
Micheal Jackson is gone it wouldn’t be the same let Micheal R.I.P and respect his family wises it’s not right to make profits off someone family member for your own gain a lot of yall didn’t care for him when he was here so don’t act like it now! Real fans love Micheal Jackson for who he were and what he gave us as the WORLD’S GREATEST ENTERTAINER!
I honestly think all of this is made up. Why would they digitally recreate Michael as a hologram for the biopic premiere when they literally have Jaafar for the promotion and the premiere? He could easily perform it live. A hologram makes zero sense in this context.
