‘If I Told You That’ was originally intended to be with Michael Jackson

Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins shared his stories on ‘We Sound Crazy’ podcast.

Jerkins told the  co-hosts how he created “You Rock My World”, the verse was actually inspired by an TV advertisement with Michael Jordan:

Jerkins also worked with Whitney Houston.

Reflecting on the creation of the song “If I Told You That”, which was originally housed on Houston’s 1998 album ‘My Love Is Your Love’, Jerkins shared that the duet version that arrived two years later was originally conceived and demoed as a duet between Whitney and Michael Jackson.

The producer was notably working on both artist’s projects at the time. The duet ended up to be with George Michael, which is amazing but we can only imagine it with Michael!
