Opti is one of the mascots from Expo 2020 Dubai but it is also a real robot at the Expo which opened on October 1st and will closed on March 31, 2022.
Robot Opti is one of the three robot guardians to Expo 2020 Dubai mascots and also the robot guardian to the Opportunity Pavilion at the Expo launched by China-based company Terminus Group.
Powered by Artificial Intelligence of Things, the Opti robot features multi-touch displays, voice interaction and AI-driven object mapping and detection.
There are 50 of the motorised mascots rolling around the world fair greeting visitors and offering up nuggets of information, including directions and jokes.
Occasionally they even gather in packs to perform flashmob-style dance routines.
And for Halloween, the rounded pumpkin-looking robot performed… Well you know which song! Of course it is Thriller by Michael Jackson!

While the Expo (and Opti) embraces Michael Jackson and his music, the other Dubai attraction “Dubai Stars” (which is the Hollywood Walk Of Fame of the Middle East) is failing to include the King of Pop on their stars walk! Thousands of fans have voted for Michael Jackson to be included and MJVibe has contacted the company multiple times with no clear answers to why they still haven’t put a star honouring Michael. (TBC)
