CLAYTON — The Clayton Arts Alliance will take part in Thrill the World, a worldwide simultaneous performance of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” dance, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in downtown.
The event — now in its 19th year — brings together groups from around the world to perform the routine at the same time. Since its launch, Thrill the World has drawn more than 23,000 dancers in 32 countries across six continents.
Participation is open to all Clayton residents, and there’s no cost to learn the dance or attend the performance. The Clayton Arts Alliance invites local groups to help teach the routine and promote community involvement in the arts.
SpiritJoy Dance is hosting rehearsals from 8:15 to 9:15 p.m. every Tuesday in August, September and October on Town Square at O’Neil and Main streets. The performance and video recording will take place at a location to be announced later.
The Clayton Arts Alliance will perform a modified version of the original choreography by Michael Peters.
