Brazilian digital artist recreates Michael Jackson face at 64

Hidreley Leli Dião, a digital artist from Brazil, used modern technology to re-imagine faces of fictional or real people on his Instagram account, @hidreley.

He said: “With the arrival of artificial intelligence we realized that ‘almost’ anything is possible. So I challenged myself to bring these historical characters for today.

“When choosing the character, the most time consuming thing is to find an image that resembles the historical figure. I spend hours in image banks until I get it. I always say that finding the perfect image to be the basis of art takes much longer than making the art.”

After doing many fictional character such as Homer Simpson or Disney characters, he also did celebrities that have passed away or without any surgery such as Sylvester Stallone or Madonna… and yeah, Michael had the treatment!

He said in his post on his Michael Jackson Creation:
“Michael Jackson would have been 64 this month had he not gone so soon. What if he was still alive without vitiligo and without the plastics? Note: To make an age progression, it is not enough to just put the photo in an app, there is a study of faces, especially of his parents and siblings. This month Michael Jackson would have turned 64 if he hadn’t left so soon. What if he was still alive without vitiligo and plastic surgery?”

I admit, I cannot see Michael Jackson in this representation of “What if”. Maybe I am too used to see our Michael just the way he was but the technics and the representation are interesting and might interest you too.
