BOOK REVIEW: Michael par Christophe Boulmé

Long over due Book review for this amazing book by Christophe Boulmé.

OK! So this one is only in French and I would like to say, a lot of the stories will relate to the French fans only, with the fan magazine “Black & White”.

However, this is a very heartful story of a Michael Jackson Fan who was so talented that the man himself noticed him. That fan is Christophe Boulmé.

Christophe is going from his time as a teenager discovering Michael and also other of his passion (which he later mixed together into art like “Kheops” which Michael Jackson loved so much, requested a copy).

The book follow the time line of Christophe’s life, from meeting Laurent Hopman and Julien Derain to create the first French Fan Magazine “Black&White” to his first official photo job with Michael in Tokyo during the Dangerous tour; Going to “Stanger In Moscow” video set to creating iconic single covers and posters and programmes…

Christophe tell-it-all story is easy to read and to relate, you feel like you could have been that fan who did all this but also Christophe shows us his emotions, Michael’s emotions, his humanity in a Hollywood hard business environment, the love and passion for a man, as a fan but also as an artiste.

Not to mention Christophe talent through the years of “Black & White” Magazine, the amble beginning of 3 fans who all got a huge kick up to the stars thanks to a talent guided by the love of a superstar!

One of my favourite story is the visit of Dave Dave on the set of “Stranger in Moscow” but I will no spoil it here! Not to mention the behind the scene photos are so beautiful and interesting to look at!

And if you do not speak French, well, I can say that the book is full of beautiful artworks and photos of Michael Jackson and still worth having. As Christophe said, he finally came around to do this book to share with the fans, 10 years after the pop star passed away, it is his story, his photos, his gift to us all. To remember Michael as he was, as he is, as he will always be.

Overall, this is a must to have book for all the fans, for the stories and for the pictures!

Rating 4.5 out 5 stars
