As you know, MJVibe has an extensive Michael Jackson Event Calendar, regrouping all the events related to Michael Jackson, and sometimes, one event stands out for a particularly good cause.
On Sunday, July 12, 2026, the Baltimore County NAACP ACT-SO program will host a special fundraising screening of “Michael”, the acclaimed Antoine Fuqua-directed biographical drama, at the historic Pikes Theatre in Pikesville, Maryland.
The event begins at 2:00 p.m., with Baltimore County ACT-SO students who have qualified for the national competition showcasing their projects and sharing how the program has impacted their lives.
The screening offers fans another opportunity to experience Michael, the film that chronicles Michael Jackson’s extraordinary journey, from his early years with the Jackson 5 to becoming one of the most influential entertainers in history, while supporting an important educational initiative.
Tickets are priced at $20, with attendees also receiving $1 off concessions. Most importantly, all proceeds will directly benefit Baltimore County NAACP ACT-SO participants, helping local students prepare for competition and, for those who qualify, represent their community at the National ACT-SO Competition.
ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics) is the NAACP’s longstanding youth achievement program that encourages excellence among high school students across a wide range of disciplines, including science, humanities, business, visual and performing arts, culinary arts, and technology. Through the support of mentors, coaches, and volunteers, students develop projects and performances that can earn them scholarships, national recognition, and valuable educational opportunities.
“This fundraiser is a chance for the community to enjoy a fan-favorite film while investing directly in Baltimore County students,” said Mrs. Marietta English. “ACT-SO helps young people develop their talents, build confidence, and experience the power of excellence, mentorship and opportunity.”
Community members, families, educators, students, Michael Jackson fans, and supporters are all encouraged to attend this meaningful event, combining a celebration of Michael’s legacy with an investment in the next generation of talented young people.
For those in the Baltimore area, this is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Michael on the big screen while supporting a program that has empowered young scholars and artists for decades.
