Bad waxworks storm internet

As Michael Jackson fans, we are used to bad wax works of the King of Pop. But a business man in Brazil took it to another level!

The businessman Arlindo Armacollo, 77, created paintings and waxworks about political and entertainment figures. There he made more than 80 canvases and around 30 wax sculptures: including the full-size of Elvis Presley, Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, Ayrton Senna, Martin Luther King and Lady Di. The technic of Armacollo is Molding the wax on mannequins of the clothing store.

In the first week of 2021, his sculptures became an internet sensation especially for memes on twitter. But not for the right reasons!

Arlindo created those for an Exhibition called “Friends of God” for his local church in 2015 in Sao Jose.

The businessman said that some sculptures have only recently lost their trace of realism – this is because they were not properly preserved while on display in the church. They had missing/stolen parts too, which affected their looks.

Oh and Michael Jackson is unfortunately in the list!

When he was asked about the recent memes online, he said “I couldn’t care less [about the criticism], If it was about making money it might bother me whether people appreciated what I was doing or not. But I do the things I do because I enjoy them. I did this for our town. If people like it, come and visit. If they don’t, don’t!”

Someone cannot take criticism well I guess as blaming the church for the storage conditions and bad angles of pictures but while the statues are … sort of look-likes, you cannot not smile at those child-like portraits of iconic personalities! Gold star for trying though and it’s all for charity!
