MJ Charts Weekly on October 24, 2026

So sorry for the slight late article this week! Got to dance to Michael at Ashton’s birthday bash! Happy Birthday Ashton!

Now to the charts…

Halloween is getting closer, and “Thriller” is beginning to make some serious moves in the charts! Last week, we reported the first signs of its seasonal return, with the song re-entering several UK charts and making its comeback on the US Billboard charts. This week, the momentum has continued, with “Thriller” climbing higher and appearing in even more places.

In the UK, “Thriller” has reached #6 on the Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart, #38 on the Singles Download chart, #39 on the main Singles chart, #46 on Singles Sales and #49 on Video Streaming. It has also re-entered the Top 100 Songs chart at #39, while returning to the streaming and audio streaming charts. In Ireland, it has re-entered the Top 50 Singles chart at #30.

Across the Atlantic, “Thriller” has climbed to #113 on the Billboard Global 200 and improved to #14 on Billboard Digital Song Sales. Meanwhile, Michael Jackson has moved up from #10 to #7 on the Billboard Artist 100, with “Thriller” and his other albums continuing to perform across several US charts.

The digital charts tell an equally exciting story. On Spotify, “Thriller” has entered the US chart at #66 and the Ireland chart at #61. On YouTube, it has climbed from #26 to #16 in the United States and from #47 to #38 in the UK. Its iTunes position has also improved from #25 to #16 in the US, from #42 to #33 in Canada, and from #91 to #32 in Australia. It is now appearing on the Spotify Worldwide chart at #184 too.

Of course, “Thriller” naturally returns to the charts every Halloween, but this year has an important difference: the renewed worldwide interest in Michael Jackson following the biopic. With more people rediscovering his music, the song’s annual Halloween resurgence could be bigger than ever. The fan community’s campaigns are part of the season, but the growing chart presence is what we need to watch and the biopic deserves its share of the credit for bringing Michael Jackson’s music to a wider audience.
