Two More Japanese Magazines Spotlight “Michael”

As excitement continues to build across Japan for the release of Michael, fans will soon have even more reading material to enjoy, with two additional magazines dedicating major coverage to the upcoming biopic and the legacy of Michael Jackson.

The first is the latest issue of Bunshun Cinema, which features a massive special section titled “Michael / Michael – Witness the Birth of a Legend!”. The magazine includes a wide-ranging tribute to Michael Jackson, exploring his extraordinary career, influence, and lasting impact on popular culture.

Among the highlights are discussions with respected Japanese musician and Michael Jackson admirer Gota Nishidera and renowned choreographer TAKAHIRO, who examine what made Michael such a unique superstar. The issue also includes a detailed Michael Jackson timeline and a special “Book in Book” supplement featuring articles on the people who helped shape his career, his five greatest revolutions in music and entertainment, his memorable visits to Japan, and his fascinating relationship with Prince.

One particularly unique feature is a special tribute connecting Michael’s artistry with Japanese figure skating champions Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara, better known to fans as the “Rikuryu” pair.

Meanwhile, Newsweek Japan will publish a special issue on June 16 titled “The Return of Michael”, timed to celebrate the Japanese release of the highly anticipated biopic. The cover feature promises to revisit Michael Jackson’s remarkable legacy and examine the renewed interest surrounding the King of Pop as Michael arrives in cinemas.

With magazines, television appearances, promotional events, and the recent Tokyo premiere all generating significant attention, it is clear that Japan is fully embracing the arrival of Michael. Fans visiting bookstores in the coming weeks may want to keep an eye out for these special editions, which offer yet another opportunity to celebrate the enduring legacy of Michael Jackson.

Both magazines are expected to be available throughout Japan during June, making them great collector’s items for fans following the release of Michael.
