Anticipation for Michael continues to build as new details have emerged about the film’s future streaming rollout, alongside fresh behind-the-scenes footage released by Lionsgate.
According to a recent report from People, Michael will first stream on Starz and all of the network’s streaming and on-demand platforms before eventually making its way to Prime Video.
Fans wanting to watch the film as soon as it becomes available digitally will likely need access to Starz first. The streaming service currently offers monthly and annual subscription plans, including promotional introductory pricing for new subscribers. After its Starz window, the film is expected to transition to Prime Video at a later date.
At the moment, no official streaming premiere date has been announced. However, Lionsgate’s recent distribution pattern offers a possible clue. Several Lionsgate titles have arrived on streaming platforms roughly three months after their theatrical release. Based on that trend, Michael could potentially land on streaming services around July 2026 following its theatrical debut.
Meanwhile, Lionsgate has also unveiled a new featurette titled “On the Set of Michael”, giving fans a closer look at the production and the people helping bring Michael Jackson’s story to life.
The video features several longtime Michael Jackson collaborators, including legendary drummer Jonathan Moffett, musician Don Boyette, iconic guitarist Jennifer Batten, and renowned photographer Kevin Mazur.
Their appearances add another layer of authenticity to the upcoming biopic, with firsthand memories and experiences from artists who worked directly alongside Michael during his career.
With excitement continuing to grow, fans are now getting both a clearer picture of how they’ll eventually watch Michael at home and a deeper glimpse into the creative effort behind the film itself.
