Smooth Radio Icons 2025, the results are in!

It’s been years now that we’ve been following Smooth Radio’s “Smooth Icons”, celebrating artists voted as Icons by UK listeners of the pop music station.

To recap Michael Jackson’s positions in Smooth Icons over the past few years:

• 2019: #3 Michael Jackson

• 2020: #1 Michael Jackson

• 2021: #1 Michael Jackson

• 2022: #1 Michael Jackson

• 2023: #2 Michael Jackson

• 2024: #3 Michael Jackson

Last year, we were a bit disappointed that Michael didn’t place higher in the voting. Naturally, we had predicted he might return to the top spot this year with the release of the biopic. However, as you know, the biopic has now been postponed to 2026. So here is this year Top 10 including Michael Jackson position:

1. George Michael
2. Queen
3. Michael Jackson
4. Whitney Houston
5. Abba
6. Elton John
7. Wham!
8. Celine Dion
9. Bee Gees
10. Phil Collins

So as last year, Michael is still at #3 but still… Congratulations Michael Jackson!

Meanwhile the Jacksons last year were at#40 and this year they gained 18 spots to be at #22.
