Michael Jackson Estate Denies Involvement in Ireland Sessions Tribute Album

The buzz surrounding the upcoming tribute album based on Michael Jackson’s Ireland recording sessions has taken a significant turn, as the Michael Jackson Estate has officially denied any involvement in the project.

Over the past few weeks, various media outlets have reported on a tribute album said to feature global artists, aiming to bring to life unreleased songs and ideas Michael Jackson worked on during his time in Ireland between 2006 and 2007. The project has been promoted as a heartfelt homage to Michael’s creative legacy during his Irish retreat, with suggestions of support from individuals who once collaborated with the King of Pop.

However, the Estate of Michael Jackson has now issued a firm statement distancing itself from the project. A spokesperson for the Estate clarified:

“Regarding this tribute album you are hearing about, any claims that the Estate authorised and / or supports this project are false.”

This direct statement puts to rest any assumptions or implications that the project has been greenlit or endorsed by the Estate. While tribute projects are not uncommon in the music world, it is crucial for fans and the public to distinguish between official Estate-backed releases and independently-driven initiatives.

Michael Jackson’s Ireland Sessions hold a special place in the hearts of many fans. Known for their organic, intimate atmosphere, the sessions were a time when Michael sought creative refuge away from the media spotlight. Yet, as with many of Michael’s unreleased works, the control and guardianship over these materials remain a priority for the Estate, ensuring his legacy is preserved with authenticity and care.

On another note, representatives for BTS have also issued a statement firmly denying the K-Pop supergroup’s involvement in the project. The statement reads:

“BTS has neither visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland nor taken part in any recording sessions at the location for the mentioned project.”

They further added:

“The group is not involved in the tribute album in any capacity. We are continuing to take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of inaccurate information.”

These statements directly contradict earlier claims made by Paddy Dunning, the owner of Grouse Lodge Studios, who suggested that both the Michael Jackson Estate had given its blessing and that BTS would be participating in the tribute album. With the Estate and BTS’s teams now publicly refuting any association, Dunning faces serious questions regarding the legitimacy of these assertions.

Also to note a website for this project has been created and a trailer for the documentary was available and has since been remove.

As always, MJVibe will continue to monitor developments and provide updates should more information surface regarding the project or any official releases from the Estate.

  1. Fact check your news sources first or hold your guests accountable for lying, they not only disrespected a legend like Michael legacy and his fans undying love for him, he also put BTS at risk of legal problems for violating their country’s military service law. 😢 now even your news reliability is questionable for me. 🤔

    • Thank you for your response.

I completely understand your frustration and where you’re coming from. However, I’d like to clarify that MJVibe reports on news as it is presented in public sources. We always strive to keep fans informed about anything happening in the MJ world, including projects like this.

When the story first emerged in February, we immediately reached out to The Lodge and the Estate for verification, but we received no responses from either party. Without an official statement, we can only report on what is publicly available, while clearly indicating the source — in this case, The Irish Sun and statements made by Paddy Dunning.

Our intent is never to mislead but to keep fans aware of developments, even when information is still unfolding. We always hope that by reporting these stories, it prompts the relevant parties to provide clarity — which is exactly what has happened now.

I understand your disappointment, but the lack of clarity stems from The Lodge, not from us reporting what was said.

We are always open to constructive feedback and are committed to responsible reporting.

  2. The MJ Estate can’t seem to come up with a decent project anyway. The movie keeps getting delayed. MJ’s official website is full of bad fan videos and blurry, unedited photos. They just put out expensive toys. As Paris said, they’re just for the money. The MJ Estate is terrible at producing projects. Then there’s the musicals One and Broadway, which have been running in America for years… they’re annoying. 😡
