BTS & Lu Han Join A Special Project For Michael Jackson’s 60th Birthday

South Korean boy band BTS and Chinese singer Lu Han will be taking part in a special project to honour King of Pop Michael Jackson.

Jerry L. Greenberg, the former president of MJJ Music (Michael Jackson’s record label) have announced that he is currently working on a special song to celebrate Michael Jackson’s upcoming 60th birthday.

“Michael continues to influence artists from around the world, so I’ve invited some of the biggest global artists to take part in this very special project, including BTS and Luhan from China, among others. My hope is to keep Michael’s legacy alive, for many generations to come, and this project celebrates Michael’s global contribution to music and dance,”

he said in a video announcement.

Greenberg is currently the CEO of 769 Entertainment’s Music Division. He had worked with Michael on a daily basis for over 10 years.

The special song will be released on 29th August in conjunction with the late singer’s 60th birthday. Apart from BTS and Lu Han, Greenberg will also invite other artists from around the globe to participate in the project.

UPDATE:
BTS’s agency has released a statement on being invited to participate in a Michael Jackson tribute song.

“[BTS] recently received a request [to participate in] a tribute song for Michael Jackson. It is a great honor to have even received this request. However, it is unfortunately difficult for the group to participate as their album is being released soon and they have concerts for their world tour ahead”
