The internet has been buzzing this weekend with rumours that Supreme is about to drop a brand new wave of Michael Jackson pieces as part of their Fall/Winter 2025 Collection. While nothing has yet been confirmed by the brand or the Estate, fans are already speculating on what could be included.
Back in 2017, Supreme released a capsule collection featuring Michael from the set of the “Billie Jean” short film. The line included t-shirts, shirts, hoodies and skateboards, all sold at retail prices between $44 and $168. As expected, the items flew off the shelves and have since been commanding huge resale prices on platforms like StockX, where a skateboard deck that originally retailed at $66 is now valued well above $150.
Fast forward to 2020, and things were not so smooth. Supreme was slammed for designing a tee using a photoshopped picture of Michael during the infamous “balcony incident”, a move many fans considered deeply disrespectful. Coming so soon after the Leaving Neverland backlash, the brand’s misjudged choice left a bitter taste within the fan community, one that some have yet to forgive.
So why are these rumours surfacing now? Three main reasons:
-
A Michael Jackson biopic is expected to hit theatres next year, making this a prime moment for fashion and streetwear brands to re-tap into his iconic imagery.
-
Supreme is known for revisiting its most popular cultural collaborations, and the 2017 MJ drop remains one of its most talked-about releases.
-
The FW25 lookbook is scheduled for August 25th, just a couple of days away, meaning leaks and speculation are at an all-time high.
Whether this is simply online hype or the real deal, we’ll know very soon. If true, it will undoubtedly spark excitement but also bring back discussions around pricing, respect for Michael’s image, and how the Estate is handling collaborations with fashion labels.
For now, fans can only wait and see. But one thing is certain: if Supreme does bring Michael Jackson back for FW25, the pieces will sell out in minutes and history might just repeat itself.
Stay tuned to MJ Vibe for the latest updates as the Fall/Winter 2025 Collection is unveiled in the next 48 hours!
