Rare “The Wiz” movie maquettes to grab in auction

With “The Wiz” coming back in the cinema and the biopic coming in 2026 (maybe), the urge to find new collectable related to Michael Jackson and “The Wiz” is getting bigger!

Our May 16 Hollywood/Entertainment Signature Auction celebrates the extraordinary legacy of Tony Walton, the visionary designer behind some of the most iconic productions in film and theater. This single-consignor sale features original costume and set design artwork, maquettes, and production pieces from titles including Mary Poppins, The Wiz, A Christmas Carol, and The Boy Friend. From Broadway stages to Hollywood sets, Walton’s creative touch helped define the visual language of entertainment. Explore the collection and own a piece of design history.

Tony Walton (October 24, 1934 – March 2, 2022) was a British costume designer and set designer who worked on the film The Wiz, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award in 1979.

Around 20 pieces from “The Wiz” created by Walton will be for grab!

As Michael Jackson fans, we will showcase few of the MJ related items as the Scarecrow! The first one is a bronze model maquette of Michael as the Scarecrow, mounted on black base measuring 6″ x 6″ and has a height of 14″ and the crows are also available for grab by the way!

Another one is again Michael as the Scarecrow but this time the maquette is coloured and measures 7.5″ x 9.75″ x 14.5″.

Another cool item is float model with figurines including Michael Jackson and Diana Ross which is measuring 8″ x 22.5″ x 6″ (in height).

And here all the items available related to “The Wiz”:
