There’s a new Little Michael moonwalking onto the Broadway stage! Emjay Roa has officially joined the cast of MJ the Musical at the Neil Simon Theatre, taking on the iconic role beginning May 14.
Roa steps into the spotlight following Austin Rankin’s final bow on May 11. Rankin is now headed out on the road to join the MJ national tour. Emjay will alternate the role with Christopher Sean Cooper Jr., continuing the tradition of young talent keeping Michael’s early years alive on stage.
This marks Roa’s Broadway debut, but he’s no stranger to the stage. He previously starred as Jerome in South Pacific at Goodspeed Opera House and as Fletcher in The Bodyguard at Theatre by the Sea. He also recently voiced a character on Dora.
Big talent, big shoes to fill!
